We’re not just photographers, we are visual storytellers. We do not offer the “same old” snapshot from the top of the chairlift, but a rich tapestry of images with your loved ones. Being photographed by one of the best award-winning ski photographers in the industry is not generally accessible to the average skier. What is our approach?
Our backgrounds as documentary and commercial photographers enable us to focus on creating images that both tell a story and reveal emotional truths. We very quickly understand what makes your group unique, and we adapt to your expectations and needs. We work with a wide range of clients with different goals - some want us to capture their experiences without disrupting the natural flow of their day, and others want us imbedded in their group dynamic, taking fun family photos or ski hero images.
What makes our service unique?
On the front end of the shoot, we make sure to understand our client’s specific shoot goals. Getting a full understanding of your expectations helps us develop a customized strategy and stay on task no matter what develops during your day. Throughout your adventure we are always striving to capture the magic that goes unnoticed, considering your objectives and reading the group so we know where to position ourselves at the right time. Our post shoot communication and delivery is efficient and we’re available to help you prep images for specific printing needs for months or even years after your shoot.
On the back end, there is no delay in our post shoot turnaround time. From the moment we stop shooting, we are on it, promptly getting your images ready. We then deliver all of the images within one week of our shoot. On multi-day trips, if timing permits (which it often does!) we deliver some images on the same day.
The shots you commissioned are yours, and we are not interested in nickel and diming you for a wallet sized print. You get every single usable image, edited, and in high resolution. You can use them however you wish, without royalties and without restrictions slapped on at the end. They are yours and there are no hidden additional costs (but yes, we offer printing, framing, and image books.)
What does a typical day look like on the resort?
We meet you bright and early and our shutters are already firing as you walk to the lifts. We capture your entire day of skiing with your people, sharing laughs and turns and everything else we observe. When the opportunity for a perfect group shot presents itself, we capture it. When we see you sharing a laugh with a friend or a snack with a grandchild, we capture it. When we see the opportunity for an epic ski shot, we set it up and direct you to where we need you to be. When it's time for drinks on a patio, we're there capturing the ambiance and good times. We tell the story of your day from start to finish, and we keep shooting until there's no more light.
What is a typical day like on a heli trip?
In the mornings we meet you bright and early to capture all the excitement about to enfold — from coffee and breakfast to putting on your boots and gearing up, there is so much anticipation that makes morning lodge life memorable. Then it's a full day of capturing the exhilaration of heli rides and endless powder on a backdrop of spectacular scenery. Each group chooses how much time it wants to spend on action shots, with expert advice provided to get everyone in the right place and position to achieve stunning magazine quality images. The rest of the time we capture the epic powder runs, the exquisite landscape, the profound moments of connection between the group members, the friendly guides making the entire experience possible, the peaceful solitude in between runs, and the exhilaration felt on the way back to the lodge. We then turn to the atmosphere and camaraderie during après ski, gastronomical experiences, and the moments when a backcountry lodge is bursting with energy or enjoying a crackling fire.
How do we work with your guides?
In addition to being an expert skier and award-winning commercial photographer, Warren has decades of experience as a skiing, hiking, biking, climbing, canoeing and kayaking guide, for people of all ages. It is no wonder that the communication between the photography team and guides is therefore seamless. The guides ensure your safety as well as design and deliver the extraordinary experience, and our objectives will never influence or interfere with the guide’s critical job. The guide's plan or agenda, be it safety or timing, is never compromised. We excel at being able to get incredible imagery within any experience that your guiding team designs and executes.
Can the photographers keep up to the group?
We are both expert skiers with plenty of big mountain ski experience. Warren grew up racing and works on Blackcomb Ski Patrol, and Guy has travelled and worked in the most challenging heli, ski touring, and in-bounds terrain around. We both love to ski anywhere, and in any conditions imaginable - especially with our cameras..
What do you get as a final product?
We do things differently than other photographers. You will receive a collection of ALL the usable digital images in high resolution, edited, and ready to print. The images are yours to share and enjoy without any restrictions.
What products are available for purchase?
We offer books, archival quality prints, large format prints, and framing services. The products we carry are of the highest quality, and because aesthetics and craftsmanship matters, we work with the best printers and framers who service local fine art galleries.
